Description of event Week long event held in conjunction with the Arizona Lottery, the City of Tempe, and the City of Scottsdale to promote public transit.

Transit Information Exchange Conference (TIE) - Phoenix
Date of event October 23 - 25, 2000
Description of event The TIE conference is an annual event hosted by a different transit agency each year so that transit professionals may network and be educated. In 2000 there were 150 attendees.
Role in event Supervised a team of staff members who organized the venues, entertainment, creation and printing of invitations and promotional materials, and a website where attendees could research registration and event information. Set up a database to track all registrations and billing. back to top

Description of event Annual event held on Central Avenue that is attended by approximately 125,000 people.

Description of event Independence Day celebration event for approximately 70,000 attendees.

Ahwatukee Fourth of July - 4700 E. Warner Road
Date of event July 4, 2001, 3 - 10 pm
Description of event Independence Day celebration event.
Role in event Polled approximately 400 booth visitors to gauge public opinion for the design of the new Ahwatukee shuttle. Organized 3 volunteers and arranged for a prototype shuttle to be present. back to top

Description of event Ahwatukee event to promote neighborhood cooperation. 1,500 attendees.

Ahwatukee Children's Fall Festival - Desert Foothills Parkway and Chandler Blvd
Date of event October 27th, 2001, 8:30 am - 3 pm
Description of event Commercial celebration hosted by several companies in the area. Halloween theme.
Role in event Organized 6 volunteers, arranged booth space and to have a prototype shuttle vehicle present. back to top
Ahwatukee Local EXplorer Launch event - 5051 E. Elliot Road
Date of event November 18, 2001, 2 - 3 pm
Description of event Introduction of new ALEX bus design and service. Speakers included Councilman Greg Stanton, plus dignitaries from the local school district. New vehicle unveiled and student winner of naming contest announced and invited to speak.
Role in event Organized dignitaries, speakers, location, and refreshments. Also worked closely with painting team to ensure that a painted vehicle would be ready on time. back to top
Ahwatukee Festival of Lights
Date of event November 24th, 2001, 11 am - 7 pm
Description of event Ahwatukee holiday event with 25,000 attendees. Coincided with the first day of ALEX (Ahwatukee Local EXplorer) service and the shuttle was used to take attendees from parking areas to the event itself.

Description of event Weeklong event to encourage possible choice riders to try public transit. Made possible by partnership with the Arizona Lottery and 12 News.
